<p>A recently completed Clancy Construction project, The Topaz Motorway Service Station at Junction 8 on the M8 has been named as the Insight NACS 2011 International Convenience Retailer of the Year. The Topaz service station saw off competition from other short-listed sites in in the UK, France and Norway.</p>

<p>This international award comes on the back of a recent award as Newcomer of the Year in Ireland&#8217;s Forecourt &amp; Convenience Retailer Awards. Topaz Chief Executive Eddie O&#8217;Brien has described this station as a template for  it&#8217;s future motorway service stations and Clancy Construction are privileged to be responsible for the construction and delivery of this prestigious facility. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Clancy Construction have recently completed construction on the new Dunbrody Visitor Centre. The new centre sits on, and indeed over, the quays of the river Barrow in New Ross, co. Wexford. This €2.6M project was carried out under the supervision of contract manager <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a title="Pat_Phelan" href="http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=75514931&amp;authType=name&amp;authToken=gDqx&amp;trk=tyah" target="_blank">Pat Phelan</a></span>.  The centre houses a state-of-the-art exhibition on Irish emigration along with genealogical resources for people in search of their Irish heritage.<br />
This project involved the construction of a two storey extension to the existing building. The extension, part of which protrudes over the river Barrow, is 1500 square metre in size. The build incorporated marine piling and innovative use of pre-cast concrete in order to successfully complete this challenging project.<br />
The new visitor centre was opened on Friday the 8th of July by Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Dr Leo Varadkar TD &amp; dancer Michael Flatley.</p>

<p>Deputy Managing Director, <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a title="LinkedIn" href="http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=30879777&amp;authType=name&amp;authToken=VfUE&amp;trk=tyah"><span style="color: #0000ff;">John O&#8217;Shaughnessy</span></a></span>, described Clancy Construction&#8217;s winning bid as a more than just a package based on  quality and price -&#8221;The Clancy Construction bid incorporated and addressed each of the three main pillar&#8217;s of the Moyross Regeneration Project; Physical Regeneration, Social Regeneration &amp; Economic Regeneration&#8221;. These three pillars are seen as fundamental to the success of the regeneration project. Clancy Construction will begin work on the development next month.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Clancy Constrution have recently completed a full refurbishment on the Phoenix House building in the centre of Dublin city. This four storey office building was purchased by Trinity College in 2009. An ambitious design was put in place to fully fit out and refurbish the building. All four floors were worked on concurrently in order to complete the build for the forthcoming academic year. Construction was completed in August 2010 and now houses the Political Science Department of Trinity College. This project was managed by Chris Chambers. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Clancy Construction have recently completed construction of a new motorway service station. The new station, valued at over €3 million, is located at Junction 8 on the M8 motorway and is the first privately run motorway service station to open in Ireland. The development of this 1.75 acre site was completed in just 6 months.</p>
<p>Topaz Chief Executive Eddie O’Brien described the building as “a five-star service area”. Facilities include wi-fi internet access, a hot food buffet and café, children&#8217;s play area, toilets and showers. The station also contains the first McDonald&#8217;s motorway stop in Ireland. The filling station will also be among the first in the country to contain the ESB’s electric car charging points.</p>
